EUROPA
"Europa"
was launched as "Senator Brockes" by
a shipyard in Hamburg, in 1911. After a long career
as a lightship, she underwent a 8 years long reconstruction.
From 1994 on, when she recommenced sailing, "Europa"
has developed a reputation as a ship which really
sails.
The crew of 10 to 12 professional seafarers on this luxury yacht charter try
to involve the passengers, many of whom have no
seafaring experience, as much as possible in running
and sailing the ship. They stand watches, take
turns at steering or on lookout, set sails, bake
bread,scrub the decks and practise traditional
seafaring/seamanship skills.

Sailing
area: Every wintertime, Europa sails the Antarctica
again, a voyage with a specific focus on the flourishing wildlife.
Later, starting in the chilly Terra del Fuego,
she follows the whales north to the Azores,
joins the Tall Ships Races or undertakes other great voyages on the worldwide oceans.
